Probate with a Will
If you are named as the executor under the Will of a loved one who has passed, you may need to probate the Will with the Register of Wills in the appropriate County. It is important to have a legal professional review the Will and assess the estate to identify the best path forward. We provide compassionate legal advice in this complicated, emotional time to determine the assets of the estate, the debts that should (or should not) be paid, and ensure that taxes are minimized and all tax deadlines are met.

Probate without a Will – Intestate
If a loved one has passed and no will was executed or can be located, the heirs according to the laws of Pennsylvania may petition to serve as Administrators of the estate. We can help advise and draft the proper documents for you to be appointed by the Register of Wills. Then, ensure that all the duties of this position are carried out.

Non-Probate Estates
If a loved one has passed and no assets are titled in their name alone, it may be that the Probate process can be avoided. Nevertheless, assets may need to be transferred, and taxes may be owed. We can advise the family on how to file claims and prepare tax filings to ensure deadlines are met and taxes are minimized.

Trust Administration
If a loved passed with a Revocable Living Trust, the Trustee will have duties in carrying out the terms of the trust. We can advise and draft the needed documents to accomplish the wishes of your loved one while minimizing the costs and taxes involved.
